“The word for meekness in the Scriptures pictures a war horse at rest. It doesn’t thrash around the paddock snorting and kicking to intimidate the other horses. It stands at quiet, ready at it’s masters beck and call to be swift on the run and courageous in battle.”

  • Wayne Jacobsen

What a picture of a profound truth, to be ready but still. Calmly waiting for the cue to let lose an explosion of power and strength, harnessed by a simple word or a subtle touch of a spur. Putting complete trust in the voice of his leader, he charges headlong into the din and horrors of war, fire and confusion. Never once hesitating or doubting the will of his’s master.

Still Readiness

Let us also be so in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ. Waiting, resting, restraining the power and authority given to us, but with eagerness and readiness, listening for the call of our Lord to spring into the field of battle with full trust and abandonment to His leading! Fearless, strong and courageous; ready for war!
