Leap into Spring!
Spring on the farm is the most wonderful time of the year. There are baby animals frolicing everywhere, filling my heart with joy. I manage our goat herd and love watching the goat kids grow into their unique personalities. In this painting, I tried my best to capture their carefree joy and constant merrriment!
"Shortie"
This painting was commisioned by my great aunt and I learned so much working on this piece. Shortie's name reflects her lack of height which compels her to constantly look upwards. The level of detail in this piece challenged me but I grew through it and was very pleased with the result. I was so blessed to be able to create this painting for my aunt.
"I Smell A Rat!"
This handome fellow is one of three farm cats that live with us. He is an accomplished mouser and is an essential part of our farm. This cat is anything but a house pet and this painting shows his intense personality, which is brought out by the black contrast of the backround, creating a dramatic effect.
The Bells
I was inspired to create this painting after my brothers completed their lego animation short film, "I Heard the Bells." This amazing film tells the story of hope even in the mist of war. This bell represents the promise of hope that God is still in control and that there is peace on earth, even if we can't see it. I loved the color of the bell and brick building and incorporated a slight angle to enhance the motion of the swinging bell.
